Waking Up Grey offers readers a way to reconnect with their God-given capacity to create. Join others in an intimate journey of rediscovery. Experience how God has wired us to participate in and enjoy the creative process. This study appeals to professional artists desiring more fullness, those pondering the question of their creative existence, and everyone in between. This study will include monthly ‘hands on” artistic exercises led by Jennie along with group discussion and weekly creative exercises and journal promptings. We will meet every week from February 12-July 1 and finish with a weekend retreat July 12-14. Meetings will be held on Monday evenings in Columbia. This is a 20-week commitment. Waking Up Grey is 11 weeks and during the off weeks, we’ll be doing WAI (Working Artist Initiative), which is a program designed to help creators build healthy habits and community around the act of making. More will be explained at the first gathering.
Working Artists Initiative is about helping artists form strong creative habits that will last a lifetime. Together, with other artists of differing disciplines, we commit to our own process of making art, 5-10 hours per week for nine weeks. In each meeting, artists share progress, renew commitments and respond to each other’s work (not a critique format). We meet every other week to check in with each other.
