QUIET CREATIVE RETREAT ON THE CUMBERLAND
“Silence is God’s first language.”
JULY 18-20, 2025
The Cumberland River from the back deck of The Hiding Place, Nashville, Tn
Join Jennie for a weekend retreat full of creative projects, done in quiet, contemplative reflection. It doesn’t matter where you are on the journey, or what kind of artistic practice you have, or want to have. All are welcome.
Life is full and busy and loud. Have you created a space for yourself to put your ear to the ground and listen to your life speaking to you? Have you been able to expend creative energy on caring for yourself, creating something YOU want to create? This contemplative setting will provide ample space for you to explore these questions and move in the direction of your deepest longings.
We will begin our retreat Friday evening and conclude on Sunday before lunch time. Please dress comfortably on Saturday. We will be doing creative projects and the grounds are open and available to explore. You will meet with myself for Spiritual Direction twice during the weekend. Please note: We need the names, street addresses and email addresses of 3 people who champion you creatively and will commit to being with you in thought and prayer while you are on retreat. I will contact them listing specific ways they can partner. Please ask them first before filling the registration form out. Please have their information in front of you when you register. $350 is due at registration and the balance can be paid by June 30. Total cost for the retreat is $495. This includes a private bedroom/bath, 4 meals, art supplies, and Spiritual Direction care.
Jennie attended her first quiet retreat of this nature in 2002 with Klesis and it was such a transformative experience that for the next several years, she attended in a serving capacity and learned the art of “setting the table” to create a beautiful, inspiring backdrop for others on retreat. She began leading her own retreats beginning in 2006 and has since led dozens of retreat experiences for hundreds of women. She deeply believes in the power of practicing silence and in the ways that retreats can assist us in reconnecting with our capacity for joy, curiosity, wonder, and our ability to be receptive to and make contact with our highest, purest, essential selves, where God resides.
